How to use
Before you begin, make sure you have someone to help you secure your pet while you treat the wound. Even if your pet has never been aggressive, pain can cause a pet to react differently.
Step 1
Gently clean wound of dirt, bacteria, and visible particles using clean water followed by a cleanser like hypochlorous acid.
Step 2
Apply a thin layer of MELCURA™VET HoneyGel directly onto the affected area.
Step 3
Protect the wound from external influences like dirt and bacteria to enable undisturbed healing by covering the wound with gauze or bandages.
Step 4
Pets will try bite or lick at a bandage so consider using an E-collar (aka Cone of Shame) to protect the wound site.
Step 5
Reward your brave boy or girl with a small treat.
Step 6
Reapply if the MELCURA™VET HoneyGel has been absorbed or every 24 hours. Repeat until healing is completed.
Don't hesitate to take your pet to an emergency veterinarian for a wound that seems moderate to severe. If your pet has any deep wounds, excessive bleeding, or foreign objects lodged in the wound please take your pet to a veterinarian.
